Children with a seriously ill parent have it rough. They deal with the realities of disease on a daily basis. They live with a constant fear of Mommy or Daddy leaving them. They need to act like adults in helping their parents cope. These children need the break that summer camp provides, and the chance to laugh, run and play like "normal" children. Their parent's catastrophic illness and the resulting financial distress leaves families unable to afford summer camp, just when it is needed most.
This summer camp that I was blessed with the opportunity to be a part of and to witness firsthand is an amazing and exhaustingly enjoyable experience. What an honor to contribute to This beautiful culmination of dedication, love and care that this amazing organisation provides for these children and their families. When they need it most. A unique and cultivated summer camp program that gives these kids a severely needed reprieve from their impossible home situation. How common is it to overlook the importance that simply feeling "normal" for a child truly IS all sometimes. By restoring their spirits and completely rejuvenating a child's attitude while renewing their strength to persevere! You should be excited to know that you're helping out!!!
