Rachel and I are really excited that we joined Raise4ever in support of Camp4ever! Our goal is to raise $5000 to send children with sick parents to camp.
Children with a seriously ill parent have it rough. They live with a constant fear of Mommy or Daddy leaving them and they need to act like adults in helping their parents cope. These children need the break that summer camp provides, and the chance to laugh, run and play like "normal" children. Their parent's catastrophic illness and the resulting financial distress leaves families unable to afford summer camp, just when it is needed most.
We are determined to ensure that every child that can benefit from Camp4ever!'s program will have the opportunity to do so. Last week 75 children with a seriously ill parent left on a two week traveling camp excursion that will allow them to temporarily experience a summer break with their peers who are experiencing similar challenges, along with 75 specially trained staff members that will encourage them to take the crucial steps towards building their confidence and inner strength.
