I am so excited to be a part of the Young Leadership Board of Chai4ever! Chai4ever is an extraordinary non-profit organization that helps to mitigate the terrifying impact of parental illness on children whose families have reached out for help.
Chai4ever takes a holistic stance to setting these families on a path towards healing and thriving. The social work team at Chai4ever provides tailored assistance to each family to help them maintain a stable routine including the arrangement of meals, housekeeping assistance, transportation to medical appointments, insurance advocacy, school collaboration, homework helpers, and counseling. Chai4ever also arranges family recreational events and holiday get-togethers to create long-lasting memories and build a community of people who face similar challenges. Additionally, Chai4ever has an overnight travel camp that many of these children attend - the common denominator among all of them is that they have sick parents. Camp is a place where they can truly be kids and escape the burden of seeing their moms or dads suffering.
Unfortunately, the caseload at Chai4ever continues to expand as more families continue to reach out for help as parents are given serious prognoses.
Working in healthcare and directly with patients myself I see firsthand how traumatic serious diagnoses can be on patients and their families (especially their children!) and how any kind of support is critical and valued.
My objective is to raise at least $5,720 by May 31st to support Chai4ever. I hope you will help me reach this goal! Every bit will help and I really want to try to make a difference especially now as a new board member!
Please contribute generously to Chai4ever by donating here or feel free to e-mail me on my personal e-mail ( liss1239@gmail.com ) for my home address to send a check. All checks should be made out to Chai4ever. All donations are 100% tax-deductible. Also, if your company has a matching gift program, please request for your donation to be matched.
