This fall I am running the New York City Marathon in honor of Adam Krief, Z”L. Adam was a close family friend, but more like a surrogate cousin. Our families have been intertwined for as long as I can remember. Last spring, Adam died after a valiant and tireless fight against a rare blood cancer. He was a force of nature until his last day. Adam always had a smile and a kind word for everyone he met. He was confident but not arrogant, charismatic and, above all, selfless--even in his darkest and hardest moments; a true tzadik in every sense. From his hospital bed, he inspired people around the world to get swabbed and join the worldwide bone marrow registry. To date, 68 matches have been found because of the drives organized in Adam's name. Until the very end, Adam tried to help others. Now it's our turn to help his family.
Adam's greatest treasure was his family, and his legacy and memory live on in his remarkable wife Lia and their three beautiful children, Lev (4), Joel (3), and Luca (1). I am raising money for a special fund established for the Krief family by Chai4Ever, a non-profit organization that provides support to families impacted by illness. At least 93% of ALL funds[1] collected will be deposited into a special fund to help the Krief family pay their living expenses. Each donation is a 100% TAX DEDUCTIBLE and there is NO MINIMUM AMOUNT.
I have a team link below for any of those wishing to join me in this fundraiser. If there is a race or event you have always wanted to try, please sign up and contact me via email at gcohen@cohenfitch.com about setting up a fundraising page on this team, or you can just fundraise without a race.
